Florida, January 2002

I had an opportunity to go to Florida for 4 days for New Year's Eve 2001/2002. Unfortunately, it was cold and raining really bad most of the time, so I didn't see much. But what I saw was enough to know that for sure I will go back there to see more :)

Wisconsin Renaissance Faire, August 2001

While being in Chicago, I had a chance to go to Wisconsin for the Renaissance Faire for the first time. It was something amazing. There was a whole renaissance 'town' with old houses and people disguised as in old times. There were different performances, people singing, and theaters. In the middle of the day there was a parade with all performers, the Queen with her retinue and other people disguised. People could enjoy also a big knight tournament in the field in front of the Queen. It was really wonderful. Everywhere were small shops where one could buy hand-made clothes, jewelry and cold steel; shoot a bow and eat different kinds of food. Really amazing. I will definitely go there again.
Long weekend in Warsaw, May 2001

Many times when I went somewhere, I went through Warsaw, but I never actually had a chance to stop there for a while. And so, one day I decided to visit a friend of mine and to go sightseeing. I went there for the long weekend during first days of May. During those days the weather was beautiful, so I could enjoy my stay. On the slide show for Warsaw you can find beautiful characteristic places for Warsaw. Enjoy.

Canoe trip, June/July 2000

At the end of June 2000 I went with my friends for the canoe trip along Krutynia River in Mazury. There were 3 people from Gdansk going to that trip - we left on Thursday afternoon on the bus to Bartoszyce, where we met the rest of our team. On Friday morning we went to the place where the rented canoes waited for us. We packed our things inside and started our big trip :) The first day was very nice and sunny, we were getting used to paddling. However, in the evening, it started to rain. Well, that's what we needed most! We had to find a place to pitch our tents before the ground got too wet. The next day we were sitting in our tents, since it was raining all the time. In the late afternoon the rain wasn't that heavy anymore, so we decided to light the fire to get our things dry, but we couldn't find a piece of even half-dry wood
:( We decided to go to a nearby village to buy some woods, but as they saw us - all soaked - we got a lot of woods for free. We carried as much as we could (there were 7 of us). We were more than happy to sit by the fire that evening. On Sunday morning we packed our things and got into our canoes... we had to make up the distance for Saturday. It was really windy that day and we had to paddle against the wind, but in the afternoon we saw Sun coming out and the wind wasn't that strong anymore. In the evening we found a nice place to pitch the tents. Monday was very nice and sunny, so we decided to stay there and enjoy. At midnight we celebrated Tom's birthday - it was really a nice 'party'. Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to everybody and leave on Tuesday morning for the train to Gdansk ... on Wednesday morning I had a plane to Chicago :)
